The Bank of Canada held its overnight policy rate steady at 2.25%, maintaining a cautious stance as economic conditions evolve largely in line with its October outlook, but with risks tilted higher due to global uncertainty. While the baseline forecast remains intact, the Bank emphasized that unpredictable U.S. trade policy and ongoing geopolitical tensions continue to pose meaningful risks to both the global and Canadian economies.
