Paul de Sousa in Yahoo Finance: Canada’s TSX Experiences Record Drop
Many investors are concerned about the coronavirus outbreak, specifically whether or not the steps taken by policymakers will be enough to contain this virus’s economic impact. With concerns mounting, on March 12, Canada’s Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) closed down 12.3% at 12,508.45 – its steepest drop on record. This comes just two weeks after the TSX achieved its highest peak.
For insights on this record drop, Yahoo Finance spoke with Sightline Wealth Management Senior Vice President and Investment Advisor Paul de Sousa. He explained to the publication that “the conditions were ripe for something like this to occur. It was almost a perfect storm of overvaluation plus this is now officially a pandemic.”
